Pivoting a small business is scarier than I knew. ๐ข
Starting a small ๐ผ business is exciting and scary at the same time. Realizing that your small business needs to pivot is even more difficult. Are you ready for the emotional rollercoaster that comes with turning your company upside down? Donโt worry; sometimes, itโs precisely what your small business needs to become more successful.
When I started ๐๐๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐ฌ, I knew what I wanted it to be and do. It had to be this fantastic GovCon small business, we had to be the most successful IT company in New Mexico, and it had to make life easier with all the money I could rake in winning government contracts. Well, some of those things came true, and some Iโm still working on.
In hindsight, what is impressive is that the โ tools I created to make Rebellis a better GovCon small business are tools that will now be products Rebellis will be known for. That is scary in itself, developing a product, discovering people like it, and then having to decide to leave behind what you know and pivot to what you donโt.
So what is a pivot to a small business, and how do you do it successfully?
Pivoting is completely changing the direction of your business when you realize that your old model wasnโt working as effectively, and a new model will improve your company. Vikas Agrawal talks about this in his article โHow to Pivot Successfully In Businessโ and gives a couple of tips.
๐ Focus on a feature instead of an entire solution
๐ Pick Goals that align with your business
๐ Strategize before you make the move
Iโve always been one to face my fears and go for it, are you? We look forward to exciting new announcements from Rebellis over the next week as we pivot into our next adventure. We hope you come with us as we start this fantastic new journey.
