Veterans

Our military’s men and women make great sacrifices to protect our country. While serving, they need every asset at their disposal to complete their mission. As veterans, they deserve to be welcomed home by an accountable, responsible Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) that puts veterans first. Veterans are also owed world-class health care at the VA or a private provider of their choosing

Mission Statement:

To fulfill President Lincoln's promise “To care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan” by serving and honoring the men and women who are America’s veterans.

The Lifeline for Vets:

The National Veterans Foundation’s (NVF) Lifeline for Vets helps Veterans of all eras, their family members and active duty service members, some while serving overseas in combat deployments.   The Lifeline for Vets assists Veterans with needs including medical treatment, PTSD counseling, VA benefits advocacy, food, shelter, employment, training, legal aid, suicide intervention and more.

Providing Service Dogs to Military Veterans:

K9s For Warriors is the nation’s largest provider of service dogs to military veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury and/or Military Sexual Trauma. Our program is unique, comprehensive, and proven thanks to research by Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine. We provide each warrior with a service canine, equipment, training, certification, seminars, legal instruction, vet care, housing, home cooked meals, unconditional love and listening, and a life-time of wrap-around services. In essence, we don’t just give each of our warriors a service dog, we give them the K9s Family.

“As a retired Veteran, I am 100% committed to ensuring we have a resource that allows Veterans and their families to seek the assistance they need.”

When I retired in Dec 2015, I didn't realize how hard it would be to walk away after 20 years of serving and also didn't realize how hard it was to be a Veteran and get the services I needed. This page is dedicated to all my brother and sisters who ever wore the uniform to defend the United States of American including their families. I wanted to provide a "One Stop Shop" to most of the information out there to help you along your journey. This list is not all inclusive, but it is a starting point. If you come across more sites with more great information, please email me at ddemotta@rebellisdg.com to add it to this page.
